For the past 35 years, the Grande Prairie Council for Lifelong Learning (GPCLL) has been providing learning programs to support adults and families, including barriered learners and immigrants in Grande Prairie and area.

This fall, GPCLL is starting three new learning programs for newcomers and immigrants.

  • Ready to Launch: Entrepreneurship Training for newcomers needing training, networking, and mentoring to start their own businesses.
  • Employment Awareness Training for newcomers looking for knowledge and employment skills to successfully settle in Grande Prairie and area.
  • English and Community Connections: training on Canadian culture, parenting, money, safety, community resources, etc. to support immigrant parents and their preschoolers.

Some programs are made possible by funding from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.

‘‘In these times, these are exciting opportunities to support newcomers and immigrants to be fully engaged in our community’’ says Executive Director, Darrell Wiens.
