The City of Grande Prairie is entering the next phase of Budget 2021 engagement with the introduction of the Balancing Act tool as a final opportunity for residents and businesses to provide feedback on how their tax dollars are spent for the 2021 year.

Balancing Act is an easy-to use, interactive tool to collect informed feedback and communicate financial information to residents. The tool enables viewers to better learn how the City’s operating budget is allocated and allow them to prioritize where spending should go. Participants can submit their own balanced City budget and provide comment to help Council and City Administration shape and deliberate the City of Grande Prairie operating budget for 2021.

The tool is another way for the City to educate the community in an easy and accessible way on the budget-making process, while enhancing opportunity for public participation. It is designed to increase the transparency and accountability of the City’s finances.

The survey, Idea Space and Q&A for Budget 2021 first launched in June have been extended for public input and comment.

Each engagement tool is open for participants to interact and engage with on engage.cityofgp.com from Sept. 29 to Oct. 13.

The City thanks residents in advance for their participation and input to the 2021 Budget so budget decisions can be made that maximize value for tax dollars.
