The Grande Prairie Salvation Army’s Christmas kettle fundraising campaign raised a record total of $761,566.20 surpassing the initial goal of $500,000.

Although they had to stop volunteers halfway through the campaign, a combination of corporate donations, online donations and mailer donations were all up.

Captain Peter Kim, says that they will be able to help a lot of people and families in need.

“In total we served over 6500 people, as well as 2914 children, which actually worked out to 1361 new families that access the Salvation Army Food Bank in 2020”

“We're really blessed and thankful for all that God has provided and for the community to step up and help”

The money will go towards helping the Salvation Army’s mission for helping those in need in our area.
