Police are continuing the investigate the cause of the ice explorer rollover and are looking for help from the public.

In particular, the Jasper RCMP hope to speak to someone who may have video from the tour from before the incident.

July 18 around 11:45 is when the tour happened, and the explorer is known as Unit 547 "Bison".

People are asked to contact the Jasper RCMP Detachment at 780-852-4421 if they have video.

As of today, July 20, the Jasper RCMP, the RCMP Collision Reconstructionist, Occupational Health and Safety, Parks Canada, and removal crews continue to remain on scene at the Columbia Icefields.

Police say it may take several days to remove the ice explorer vehicle because of where it landed and trying to keep it intact, but removal is in progress.

The investigation into the cause is still underway, but the Collision Reconstructionist can confirm it was not caused by a rockslide.

Police will not release the names of those who died, but since family has been notified, they’ve said it was a 24-year-old female from Canoe Narrows, SK, a 28-year-old female from Edmonton, and a 58-year-old male from India.

As of last night, just four of those critically injured were still considered to be in critical but stable condition. One was in serious but stable condition.

The highway is still open, and police continue to ask the public to avoid the area.

Anyone with information about the rollover should call the Jasper RCMP Detachment at 780-852-3883.
