The province of Alberta will observe Daylight Saving Time this weekend, potentially for the last time.

Last fall, the government surveyed over 140,000 Albertans, and a release from Minister Nate Glubish's office stated 91 per cent of respondents indicated they would prefer to remain on summer hours year-round.

This Sunday at 2 a.m. the clocks will spring forward one hour to 3 o'clock.

Alberta would not be the first province to make the change. Most of Saskatchewan observes Central Standard Time year-round, while Yukon has announced this will be the last time their clocks jump ahead.

Last fall, British Columbia announced legislation to allow the province to stick with a permanent standard time.
