UPDATE: 

On May 31, 2024, Alberta RCMP were made aware that David James Sietsma, also known as ‘‘Toothless’’, was arrested by officers of the Ontario Provincial Police’s (OPP) Schreiber and Nipigon detachments. Sietsma was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody on a 6-day hold while he awaits to be transferred back to Grande Prairie for court.

Derek Carlson of the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit. ‘‘We would also like to thank the public for all the information they provided us along the way’’.

 

 

 

On March 14, 2024, the remains of Echer Marcial (34) were found on Range Road 55, near Clairmont, Ab.  Following an autopsy, the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton has deemed the cause of death to be a homicide.

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit took carriage of the investigation, and have charged 37- year-old Grande Prairie resident, David James Sietsma, also known as “Toothless”, with the first-degree murder of Marcial.

Sietsma’s whereabouts are currently unknown, though he is believed to be in the Grande Prairie area.

If you see David Sietsma, do NOT approach him and call your local police immediately.
