Former Calgary Flames Captain Jarome Iginla has been elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.

Iginla finished his career with 625 goals, 675 assists for 1,300 points in 1,554 games.

Long time Edmonton Oiler, Kevin Lowe will join Iginla in the players' category along with forward Marian Hossa, defencemen Doug Wilson and three-time Olympic gold medallist Kim St. Pierre, the first female goaltender elected to the hall.

Ken Holland will go in as a builder.
