The Grande Prairie Public Library (GPPL) has been recognized by the City of Grande Prairie Youth Advisory Council for Project: Full Stop.

GPPL received the Community Engagement Award, part of the 2021 Youth Engagement Awards.

Project: Full Stop was launched in November 2019 in partnership with the Community Foundation of Grande Prairie and the RBC Future Launch Challenge. Librarians Hailey McCullough and Bailey Randolph initiated the program to offer free menstrual products at the Library.

“We appreciate the recognition from the City of Grande Prairie Youth Advisory Council for our work on Project: Full Stop,” said Hailey McCullough, Head of Adult Services. “This project was created with youth in mind, as they are the ones most impacted by period poverty. “

“We will continue to work hard in breaking down barriers for youth in Grande Prairie,” continued Bailey Randolph, Teen Services Librarian. “We’re excited to receive this award from the Youth Advisory Council, and are honoured that Project: Full Stop has made such an impact on our community.”

Donations to contribute to the ongoing funding of Project: Full Stop can be made at gppl.ca or by calling 780- 532-3580. The program will continue once GPPL is able to re-open to the public.
