In the City of Grande Prairie, 38 new COVID-19 cases were reported today (May 12), and 52 people recovered. The active total is 478 with 3,206 recoveries.  

In the County of Grande Prairie, 11 new cases were added, and 17 people recovered. There are now 155 active cases and 1,128 recoveries.

Provincially, Alberta reported 1,799 new cases from 17,534 tests completed and our positivity rate is about 10.2 per cent. Right now, 24,962 cases are active in the province. With 1,831 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 186,550. 

There’s 737 people in the hospital with the virus, with 169 of these in intensive care. This is 32 more hospitalizations than reported yesterday and six more ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 96 people in the hospital with 13 of these admitted to intensive care. 

Alberta has reported four more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 2,123 since the start of the pandemic.  

There have now been 1,975,341 vaccine doses administered, with 320,751 Albertans fully immunized with two doses.
