Fairview RCMP on scene at Semi Fire, Highway 2 at Dunvegan Hill

Fairview, Alberta - Fairview RCMP along with Fairview Fire Department have been dispatched to a Tractor Trailer unit on fire on the North Dunvegan Hill on Highway 2 between Rycroft and Fairview AB.

 

Preliminary information is that the cab of the Semi is engulfed, however the driver was able to exit without injuries.     

 

As of 3:08 pm two lanes have been re-opened to allow both north and southbound traffic to pass.  The RCMP would like to remind motorists to slow down and provide a safe working environment for emergency crews on scene.  Expect delays during the cleanup.
