City residents may provide feedback on the 2019 to 2022 City budget through an online tool called Citizen Budget, beginning today. The interactive budget tool allows residents to connect hypothetical changes in spending on City services to the impact on taxes.

Citizen Budget explores services provided by the City and seeks resident feedback on if spending should increase, decrease, or be maintained in specific areas. The tool also invites residents to provide long-form responses to questions.

Residents may submit responses on cityofgpbudget.com until November 5, 2018. Additionally, general feedback on the budget may be submitted to the e-mail address citizenbudget@cityofgp.com.

Budget deliberations take place on November 14 and 15. During this time, Council will deliberate City services and the City’s operating and capital budgets. The final 2019 to 2022 budget is expected to be approved at a City Council meeting on December 3, 2018.

The City of Grande Prairie operates on a four year-budget cycle with annual budget reviews.
