The Aquatera Outdoor Pool officially closes for 2023 on September 25 after another successful season.

The closure was triggered to ensure no damage is done to the infrastructure due to low overnight temperatures and to ensure adequate time to complete year end shutdown procedures and any required repairs.

The Aquatera Outdoor Pool made a splash this year with the free season-opening Here Comes Summer event on June 3 featuring a community barbecue, outdoor games, scavenger hunt and more.

This season, the Aquatera Outdoor Pool had approximately 577 visitors during three free facility access days during community events including Here Comes Summer, Canada Day and Alberta Day.

The facility saw an estimated 15,675 visitors this summer, including 84 community bookings.

The City also handed out 75 Aquatera Outdoor Pool day passes at the Canada Day event.
