Grande Prairie RCMP have arrested several people, and seized a significant quantity of drugs, following a lengthy investigation.

On April 3, members of the Grande Prairie RCMP Municipal Drug Unit, with the assistance of the Beaverlodge RCMP, Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, B.C. RCMP., executed search warrants on 3 residences and 2 vehicles.

The searches followed a lengthy investigation, and resulted in the seizure of the following:

  • approximately 1.2 kg of Cocaine
  • approximately 6.8 kg of Crystal Methamphetamine
  • approximately 914 g of Fentanyl
  • approximately 1700 Fentanyl tablets
  • approximately 635 Xanax bars
  • approximately $20,000 in Canadian currency 

Charges are pending against a 25 year old male and a 58 year old male, both from the Lower Mainland in B.C., as well two individuals from Fort St. John, B.C.

Investigation has revealed the seized drugs were destined for northern B.C. and Alberta.

These recent searches are directly related to previous searches executed by Grande Prairie RCMP Municipal Drug Unit on January 8, 2019 and March 17, 2019.

A total of 3 males, all from B.C., were charged with offences following both of those searches, which resulted in the following significant seizure:

  • approximately 4 kg of Crystal Methamphetamine
  • approximately 6.4 kg of Cocaineapproximately 450 g of Fentanyl
  • approximately 8670 Fentanyl tablets
  • approximately 36 litres of GHB/ Rohypnol
  • approximately $98,000 in Canadian currency
  • 6 Firearms
