The United Way Alberta Northwest is asking the Grande Prairie community for help as it kicks off its Tools 4 School program for another year.

United Way Executive Director Tracy Zuk mentioned that they want to make sure that children have school supplies at the beginning of the year.

“There are many kids that do not go to school because they do not have the supplies. Many cannot afford it and live belove the poverty line.”

Last year 853 children benefited from the Tools 4 School program. This year, over 900 have signed up for the program.

There will be no “Stuff a Bus” this year, but people can drop off their donations at Centre 2000 on Monday, August 22nd from 9-4.

On August 23rd and 24th a group of volunteers will be assembling the backpacks at Centre 2000.
