The County of Grande Prairie Library Board is seeking community input about future library programs and services across the County.

“We want to hear from County residents how we can deliver effective library service, whether through physical libraries, electronic services, or outreach programs,” said Karen Rosvold, Library Board Chair.

“Libraries are valuable to rural communities, especially during times of uncertainty, offering many free and online services that contribute to a high quality of life.”

County residents are invited to complete a brief survey about how and why they access local libraries. The survey is also open to those who do not access library services, inviting feedback on why and what would encourage them to take advantage of what local libraries offer. The survey is available at countygp.ab.ca/librarysurvey and will be open from Aug. 24 to Sept. 13.

The County Library Board operates libraries in Elmworth, La Glace and Valhalla. The Board also provides funding to libraries in Beaverlodge, Grande Prairie, Hythe, Sexsmith, and Wembley, as they serve County residents.

Results from the survey will inform the County Library Board Plan of Service, a document that will guide operations in 2021 and the future. More details about the engagement and resulting plan are available at countygp.ab.ca/librarysurvey.
