Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.

These severe thunderstorms are located 40 km southeast of Tumbler Ridge and are moving southeastward at 20 km/h crossing highway 52.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
