UPDATE:

On Aug. 1, 2023, Peace River RCMP responded to a call of an unresponsive male, who was later determined to be deceased.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit (MCU) currently has carriage of the continued homicide investigation.

A person was arrested in relation to this investigation.

More details to follow once charges are laid.

Peace River RCMP are currently on scene near the area of 99 street and 100 avenue. Please be aware that there is no immediate threat to the public. The public are asked to avoid the area if possible and to follow directions of responding officers.
