Tenille Townes, Grande Prairie's own, announced on Twitter that she will be singing the Canadian National Anthem at the NHL All-Star game this Saturday, January 25.

Townes shares, "Brings back a lot of memories of singing the anthem at local hockey games as a kid. The ice was one of my very 1st stages I ever sang on & my 1st consistent music gig. Can’t wait to step back on the ice!"

The 2020 All-Star game will be hosted this year by St. Louis, home of the St. Louis Blues. The game will feature St. Louis born brothers, Matthew and Brady Tkachuk.

The format started for the All-Star weekend in 2016 will continue again this year. There will be a three-on-three tournament of four teams from each of the four NHL divisions.

New this year is the Elite Women's three-on-three tournament in which the American All-Stars and Canadian All-Stars will play on Friday. The tournament will be presented as one of six events at the All-Star skills.
