Fort St John RCMP are hoping the public can help identify a Good Samaritan as they investigate an assault that took place in September 2000 as further evidence come to light.

The victim, who was living in an apartment building on 99th Ave, was physically assaulted in the apartment. During the attack, the victim threw a chair at the window, breaking it and yelled for help. A Good Samaritan came down from the second floor and chased the suspect away stopping the assault from continuing.

Police have checked with the apartment building management for a list of tenants from 2000 but those records no longer exist and all efforts, to date, to identify the Good Samaritan have been unsuccessful. He would have been a tenant at the apartment building in September 2000, or possibly visiting someone who lived there.

“It is possible this man may have witnessed the assault and may hold evidence to support the investigation,” said Cst. Patricia Tulloch, Serious Crimes Section Fort St John RCMP
