A local Grande Prairie couple, with the help of their friends, have started "For the People From the People" to help out people in need in the Grande Prairie are.  Melanie Drisdelle and her partner Colby Wagner, along with friends, are offering support to the homeless community wherever they can.

"We're a team of oil field workers coming together, trying to give back to the community."

The charitable group began back in December and started feeding the homeless in Grande Prairie every second Sunday.  It was during these times that they began to notice a need for coats among those using their services.   In response to this need, For the People From the People will be having a coat drive on Sunday, February 2 from 2pm to 5pm.   You can drop off  your gently used or new coats, plus socks, blankets and boots at 10517 101 Avenue behind Madhatters.
