This year's Levite Summit is a "special opportunity" for Hear the Ministries Executive Director Jon Buller.

This is the first year that Winnipeg will host a Levite Summit. There are two other Levi Summits put on each year by Hear the Music Ministries, one in Red Deer, AB, and one in Vernon, BC.

"We are so excited to come to Winnipeg," Buller says. Buller grew up and ministered in Winnipeg. "Winnipeg is my hometown. I have a lot of love. Who I am is because of the people in Winnipeg."

Before moving to Vernon, BC, Buller had his own worship service called Hear the Music Night. The summit will be hosting a Hear the Music Night on the Saturday of the conference.

"The Levite Summit is a really special opportunity for me to pour back into and contribute to the culture and the community."

The summit is focussing on encouraging those serving to take a break and learn how to use their individual skills. The conference will work on helping people "get a bit of freedom" and learn how not to "fade" when using their gifts.

"Modern-day Levites are creative people," Buller says.

Jon Buller says if you are "one of those types of people" you can expect training and equipping to help the mainstream community at the conference.

The worship arts and leadership conference is being hosted by Hear the Music Ministries on November 6-9.

Levites are known as the descendants of Levi, the third son of Jacob. Levites were originally the temple servants, meaning the people doing anything from the custodial duties to leading services. Today Levites are known for their contributions to music and acting.
