The rainstorm on July 10 was quite significant in some parts of Grande Prairie.

The storm hit the south and southeast areas of town the hardest, while the center of town experienced moderate-intensity rainfall.

The storm sensor at the Resources Firehall recorded a remarkable 1:100-year event.

The photo above shows a dry storm pond located in Country Club Estates after the 1:100 event. These ponds, along with city roadways, play a crucial role in collecting storm drainage and preventing flooding. They help keep the community safe and protect our homes during heavy rainstorms.
