Iran's president is making threats against Europe, while its foreign minister is acknowledging the government lied to the people.

President Hassan Rouhani warns European soldiers "could be in danger" because of three European governments challenging Iran.

Britain, France and Germany accuse Iran of breaking the 2015 nuclear deal.

Rouhani made his remarks in a televised Cabinet meeting.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif admits Iranians were lied to for days after the shoot-down of the Ukrainian jetliner.

His comment is the first time an Iranian official has described the initial claim of a technical malfunction as a lie.
