You may have received a postcard in mail recently from Canada Post, and if you haven’t, you probably will soon.

Canada Post is delivering a prepaid postcard to every household in Canada, which can be sent to anywhere in the country for free. With everyone having to distance because of COVID-19, Canada Post is hoping this helps people to connect with friends and loved ones.

Six version of the postcards were sent to 13.5 million residential addresses. Each one has a simple message of love, appreciation or thanks.

“Meaningful connection is vital for our emotional health, sense of community and overall well-being,” says Doug Ettinger, President and CEO of Canada Post. “Canada Post wants everyone to stay safe, but also stay in touch with the people who matter to them.”

This initiative is part of Canada Post’s “Write Here Write Now” program, meant to encourage Canadians to use letter writing to connect in a heartfelt way. To learn more, visit canadapost.ca/writenow.
