Traffic signals at four locations in Grande Prairie are being worked on over the next two weeks to accommodate the installation of new traffic signal poles and removal of old infrastructure.

Crews will be working periodically in the following locations:

  • 100 Street and 124 Avenue
  • 100 Street and 121 Avenue
  • Lakeland Drive and 116 Avenue
  • 108 Street and 104 Avenue

The traffic signals at the intersection of Lakeland Drive and 116 Avenue will be inactive for roughly five hours this weekend. Drivers are reminded to treat the traffic signal as a four-way stop while inactive.

Drivers are advised that there may be times when lanes will be closed for construction purposes, however, the contractor is anticipated to complete some nighttime work to avoid major disruptions during peak travel times.

Work at all intersections is currently underway and is expected to be complete by mid-March.

The City reminds the public to watch for equipment and workers that may be present in the work area. Please obey all signage and proceed with caution.
