In a recent Facebook post Grande Prairie MLA Tracy Allard issued a public letter to the constituents after it was discovered she had travelled to Hawaii in December amid ongoing public health restrictions and advisories against non-essential travel.  Since her apology earlier this month, along with stepping down as Minister of Municipal affairs, she had spoken to many constituents and heard a growing sentiment to move on and refocus on the important work of the constituency. In her letter she wrote “I am honored to serve the City of Grande Prairie as your provincial representative and remain committed to serve through continued hard work and community engagement”

In a recent conversation with ReachFM, she expressed that brighter days are ahead.

“I think it's important as leaders not only to deal with the problems and the challenges of today, but also, as I said in my letter, to look at a broader horizon, some good news on the future”

As the province rolls out vaccines and other critical projects like the new Grande Prairie hospital and the beginning of the twinning of Highway 40, a new expansion of the small and medium enterprise relaunch grant has started.

“Our government understands that this has been an incredibly challenging time for everyone and right across Alberta. There's small businesses that are not going to survive and our government is trying to find ways to support as many as possible for the expansion of this grant”

Allard said she looks forward to serving the constituents in the future as we look for a better 2021.
