The Grande Prairie Petroleum Association (GPPA) Hangar Dance in support of STARS scheduled for January 2021 has been cancelled and is looking forward to a return in 2022.

The dance is an annual event that has raised $2 million in support of stars these last ten years.

This is thanks to Northern Peace residents.

On Facebook, the association shared, “Because of you, we are able to put the right tools in the hands of the best talent. This doesn't just save time, it saves lives. Only together can we ensure that each critically ill and injured person receives the best care.

“We remain hopeful that the GPPA Hangar Dance will return in 2022 bigger and better than ever.”

This has been a challenging time for STARS fundraising, as it has been for many small businesses and many in the oilfield. COVID-19 has caused the cancellation of hundreds of STARS events, creating a gap in fundraising through the year.

STARS has been planning creative and safe events to keep up fundraising.

“We ask as a committee dedicated to ongoing support, if you have the means and desire to continue supporting STARS to consider one of these events in the meantime.

“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued commitment to STARS, our mission, and our community. We can't wait to see you in 2022.”
