On Aug. 3, a Polaris side by side was stolen from a residence in Fox Creek. In the days to follow a string of break and enters and vehicle thefts were committed using the side by side. 

On Aug. 16, the Fox Creek RCMP used quads patrolled the area in search of the suspect. After receiving tips from the public, the RCMP members located the side by side along with the driver on an abandoned lease site near Fox Creek.  

Among the stolen items found at the location were a Dodge Ram Truck, a flatbed trailer, identification cards, four cans of bear spray, 7.71 grams of Methamphetamine and 2.76 grams of heroin. 

Matthew Duffy, 37, was arrested at the scene and charged with five counts of possession stolen property, proceeds of crime, possession for the purpose of trafficking (heroin), possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine), fail to comply with probation, fail to comply with release order, flight from peace officer, obstruction and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. 

 He was brought before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded in custody. The next scheduled court date for Duffy is Aug. 24 in Grande Prairie.
