The third phase of the 100 Street Corridor project in the City of Fort St. John has started. Construction includes the upgrading of the below and above-ground upgrades on 100 Street between 99 Avenue and 101 Avenue.

During construction, all businesses remain open including the Fort St. John Salvation Army Thrift Store. Although their access may be modified slightly, Executive Director Jared Braun reassures customers the food bank and store are open to those who need it.

Braun explained the best way to get to their location is to do a U turn and park on the north side of the street.

“If they are driving down 100th from the west going east, they can drive right up to the construction. Do a U turn and park on the north side of the street to access our services.”

Braun also mentioned you can still park on the south side of the street and because there is less through traffic, you are able to walk across the street more easily.

Braun hopes to see people come in and shop and visit them throughout the summer. A significant part of what they do in supporting their social work in the community comes from revenue generated by the Thrift Store.
