The City of Grande Prairie is seeking feedback from residents as part of its Museum Expansion Project.

Since 2016, the Grande Prairie Museum has been exploring options for expansion to accommodate its extensive collection. Now that South Peace Regional Archives have relocated from their former space in the Museum to Centre 2000, it has opened space for the Museum to go ahead with its expansion plans.

The expansion proposal aims to:

·         Increase the collection storage space

·         Add a new exhibit gallery

·         Add improvements to the existing structure

Open Houses

As part of the expansion project, residents are invited to attend two open houses to share their feedback on items such as what themes and topics the museum should focus on as part of its expansion. The open houses will include 30-minute guided tours of the Museum with an opportunity to share feedback afterwards.

All community members are welcome to attend, and registration is not required.

The tours take place:

·         April 9 | 4:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m.

·         April 10 | 5:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m.

·         Location: Grande Prairie Museum (10329 101 Ave)

Online Survey

An online survey is also available for residents to share their input on current services and programs the museum offers and express their ideas for new exhibits and programs. The survey is open until April 14 at engage.cityofgp.com/museum.
