It is William's sixth song in the top 10 on Christian Airplay and his fifth on Hot Christian Songs.

"When I first heard 'There Was Jesus,' it was one of the best songs I'd ever heard," Parton says.

Niagra Frontier Publications says Williams called the experience working with Parton an "honour and a privilege.

"Dolly has been a champion since day one of this song. I never thought in a million years this would happen," Williams said.

The duo performed the song live at the 2019 Country Music Awards (CMA). It was first released on Oct. 3, 2019.
