On Thursday, August 5, the City of Grande Prairie’s sidewalk program begins in the Highland Park neighbourhood.

Construction takes place along:

• 99B Street between 87 Avenue and 85 Avenue

• 99 Street between 88 Avenue and 85 Avenue

• 85 Avenue between 99B Street and 99 Street

• Within the Park Avenues Sidewalks in the area will be brought as close to the City’s current standard as possible, with some sidewalks rehabilitated up to 1.5 metres wide, while others are removed. The removed sidewalks will be replaced with standard curb and gutters and are located:

• East of 99 Street from north of 86 Park Avenue to 88 Avenue

• West of 99 Street from 85 Avenue to north of 86 Park Avenue

• East of 99B Street from south of 86 Avenue to 87 Avenue

• West of 99B Street from 85 Avenue to south of 86 Avenue there will be a heavy construction presence in the area and residents are reminded to watch for workers and pay attention to all posted signage. The Charles Turner Park near the corner of 88 Avenue and 100 Street will be closed for approximately one week while the sidewalk replacement occurs. Construction is anticipated to be complete by the end of September 2021.
