Government officials in China raided a church as believers gathered and dragged a man from the gathering.

A video released over the weekend by ChinaAid shows the officers dragging the man away from other churchgoers, who fight the officials to prevent them from taking the man, ChinaAid reports.

The organization is a faith-based nonprofit focused on raising awareness about and providing legal support for human rights abuses in China.

The video shows the physical altercation in Xingguang Church, located in Xiaman, Fujian province in the southeast part of the country. Officers and church attendees are shouting as the physical altercation takes place. Officers blocked the entrance as congregants fight them to try and free their fellow Christian.

Government intervention continues to occur frequently in China, reports CBN News. Last week, a journalist was sentenced to 15 years in prison for writing a blog that shared details of government corruption.

A pastor was charged with "subversion" late last month after police raided his home on March 14. Police returned another time to his home in April to confiscate "illegal" church-related documents in the pastor's possession.
