53-year-old Asia Bibi, who remains in protective custody in Pakistan, is allegedly not receiving the attention to her health that she needs.

The Daily Mail reported that the Christian is feeling "very unwell." Bibi remains in custody despite beign acquitted of basphemy charges for pretoection from lynch mobs. She is currently awaint an opportunity to leave the country.

Sources told the Daily Mail that Bibi's acquittal has been upheld by Pakistan's Supreme Court, but now faces failing health and has been "denied access to health care."

The 53-year-old was expected to immigrate to Canada in January 2019 to join her two daughters who are already in the country, but now it seems as though the individual may be barred for a while longer from escaping Pakistan. Currently, Bibi remains in a safe house with her husband Ashiq Masih. She is currently suffering from low blood pressure.

In 2010, Bibi was convicted of offending the Prophet Muhammad under Pakistan's highly controversial blasphemy laws over a trivial argument centred around a cup of water. She spent the last eight years awaiting execution until last October when she was freed on appeal. The Christian still remains in custody, however, from Islamist lynch mobs.

It is believed that the army is currently barring her exit from Pakistan, as well as limiting her access to health care, the Daily Mail reports.

The upholding of Bibi's acquittal by three judges last month should signal removal of the final obstacle preventing her immigration to Canada.
