The City of Grande is seeking nominations to recognize outstanding volunteers in our community with the George Repka Outstanding Achievement Award and the Bill Bowes Organization of the Year Award.

George Repka Outstanding Achievement Award
The George Repka Outstanding Achievement Award recognizes residents who have made outstanding contributions to the City in a volunteer capacity. The award is named after former Mayor George Repka who served on City Council for 10 years and made significant volunteer contributions to the City of Grande Prairie organization.

Nominated individuals must be distinguished with over 20 years of volunteer contributions to the community in the areas of recreation, culture, or social services. Up to three awards may be given out in this category.

Bill Bowes Volunteer Organization of the Year Award
The Bill Bowes Volunteer Organization of the Year Award recognizes volunteer organizations or foundations that have provided outstanding contributions to the community through service, voluntary contributions and community development. Bill Bowes was a highly successful business leader in Grande Prairie who was committed to supporting the community through his involvement in many service clubs and organizations.

Organizations nominated must demonstrate positive contributions to the community through efforts including fundraising, volunteering or recognition of community needs. Nominated organizations must be located within the City of Grande Prairie limits. One award will be given out in this category.

To nominate an individual or organization for either award, complete a nomination package at cityofgp.com/GeorgeRepka or cityofgp.com/BillBowes by November 1.
