Residents and business owners with properties next to gravel roads can submit dust suppression applications until April 26, 2024.

Residents in rural service areas may apply for a dust suppression and control treatment on a gravel road in sections of at least 100 metres.

The application fee is $440 for residential and $660 for commercial, per 100 meters of gravel road.

Applications can be found on the City of Grande Prairie’s website by searching for “Dust Suppression Application” in the permit library.

The City sprays a calcium chloride treatment throughout the City on an as-needed basis in the spring and summer seasons to reduce the amount of gravel dust.

Although every effort is taken to ensure that the treatment is successful, the dust control agent's effectiveness cannot be guaranteed and is dependent on factors such as weather. Refunds are not applicable once a treatment has been applied.

Dust suppression application questions can be directed to AccessGP by calling 311.
