Grande Prairie RCMP have arrested and charged 37 men with obtaining sexual services for consideration following a three-day enforcement operation earlier this month.

The goal of the operation was to address community concerns pertaining to sex trade activities in both the city and county of Grande Prairie.

The men charged ranged in age from 19 to 57 years old.

“These operations are intended to reduce the harm in our community that is directed at some of our most vulnerable persons,” said Superintendent Sean Curry, Officer in Charge of Grande Prairie Detachment. “Police will continue to work with partners such as the PACE Sexual Assault Centre, that offers a first offence alternative measure program called Sex Trade Offender Program (STOP).”

Members of the Grande Prairie RCMP are committed to identifying those who are causing the most harm in our community and to targeting their illegal activities.
