2020 is being called the year of the Bible by Christians online.

#YearOfTheBible is quickly gaining attention on Instagram. Participants are being encouraged to post selfies with their Bible using the hashtag.

The hashtag started three days ago and has been tagged in almost 2,500 posts so far on Instagram.

PULSE leader Nick Hall, The Bible Project, and YouVersion are all leading the study plan. They note that hundreds of other churches and nations are planning on following the plan this year. Hall expects participants to be in the millions.

Participants are encouraged to follow along to YouVersion's plan Together in Scripture and listen to D-Group's podcast The Bible RecapThe goal of this project, according to PULSE, is to "focus on what is important." Organizers are calling for participants to take the time to engage with the Bible all year long.

The program started on Wednesday, January 1, and finished on December 31.

TAKE A PIC + SHARE. Of all the things that make a difference in my life, nothing compares to my time with Jesus in this book (it’s the Bible 🤪). I know it’s tough, but it’s also AMAZING and literally changes me to be better in every area of life.... plus, there are amazing tools today that make the Bible more accessible than ever before (I share about them in stories all the time). In 2020, I’m joining people from over 100 nations (and growing) who are making this their #YearOfTheBible - Post a pic with your Bible and use the hashtag #YearOfTheBible - and make your plans now to make this #YourYear to #BeInspired as you hear his voice. #2020 #resolutions
