Grande Prairie RCMP rural officers partnered with the County of Grande Prairie Enforcement Services to conduct vehicle compliance checks in the County of Grande Prairie over the evenings of December 22 and 23.

RCMP officers conducted Mandatory Alcohol Screening which resulted in a number of impaired drivers that were immediately taken off the road and served Immediate Roadside Sanctions.

These vehicle compliance checks also found several other Provincial Offences that included violations of the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Act among others.

A high number of drivers were found to be unable to produce vehicle documents which is a reminder to ensure you have a valid certificate of vehicle registration and insurance available for inspection.

Throughout this initiative RCMP and Peace Officers found an abundance of Designated Drivers which is a Positive step to keeping the County of Grande Prairie roads safe.

“This Joint Force Operation is considered a success bringing attention to Impaired Driving, vehicle compliance and road safety during this holiday season,” says Cpl. Nunzio Pasquarelli.
