Jakob Brian Martens has been arrested by Hinton RCMP.

As this matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.


On June 21 at 4 a.m., Hinton RCMP responded to a call of a break and enter at The Brick located in Hinton. It was reported that two male suspects continued to remain inside the premises. 

One suspect was located and arrested outside, while the other suspect was seen fleeing the building as police arrived. Efforts to locate the second subject were unsuccessful at that time. A large 40” television was located nearby that had been stolen from the business. 

Further investigation into this matter revealed that one of the suspects had allegedly attended The Brick the previous day and was observed on video surveillance carrying a large television, which he had not purchased. As a result of this investigation, two individuals are facing charges. 

James Roy Horn, 37, of Hinton is charged with break and enter commit theft to business and disguise with intent 

Horn was arrested and released from custody with conditions to appear in Hinton Provincial court on Sept. 2. 

Jakob Brian Martens, 23, of Hinton, is charged with two counts of break and enter commit theft to business and disguise with intent. 

Hinton RCMP’s efforts to locate Jakob Martens have been unsuccessful and a warrant for his arrest has been obtained. 

Jakob Martens is described as 6'2", 141 lbs, with blue eyes, slim build, short curly dirty blond hair, a tattoo on his left forearm of dark trees and Caucasian male.
