The 28’ Aluminum boat, Williston Ranger, has been located, however it has unfortunately been dismantled.

The vessel was reported stolen from a locked fenced compound located on Dinosaur Lake Road, in Hudson’s Hope, on July 6.

On July 10, the Chetywnd RCMP were advised that an abandoned boat was found in the Moberly Lake area. Investigation revealed it was in fact the Williston Ranger.

"It appears this crime was planned out, and the boat was taken to an area that it was able to be completely stripped," stated Cpl Rob Gardner, Hudson’s Hope RCMP Detachment Commander.

The Hudson’s Hope RCMP is requesting that if anyone has any information regarding this break and enter, theft and destruction of the Williston Ranger to please contact the Hudson’s Hope RCMP at 250-783-5241. On July 6, The Hudson’s Hope RCMP received a report of a stolen boat, from a locked compound on Dinosaur Lake Road, in Hudson’s Hope, that had occurred earlier in the morning at 12:46 a.m. 

The boat is described as a 2002 28’ Aluminum Hull Eaglecraft and has the name “Williston Ranger” and a hull number C06415BC on the cabin. The boat was reported to be on a silver “Road Runner” make tandem axel trailer bearing British Columbia License plate 09476J. The boat trailer was recovered on July 7 in the Moberly Lake area; however, the boat is still missing. 

“This boat is an essential tool used to work in the waterways around the BC Hydro dams in our area,” Stated Cpl Rob Gardner, Hudson’s Hope RCMP Detachment Commander. “It’s a shame that someone has taken it upon themselves to interrupt this work.” 

CCTV footage is being reviewed to identify the vehicle responsible for towing the boat and trailer out of the compound. 

The Hudson’s Hope RCMP is looking for witnesses that may have seen the boat on a trailer, as it would be very distinctive moving along the highway.
