Alberta RCMP are acknowledging the work participants are doing at the blockade at the Coutts border crossing.

They've agreed to open one lane in each direction.

That will allow area residents to have freedom of movement, school buses can hit the road again, emergency services will be able to do their jobs and the flow of goods and services can resume.

RCMP have been actively engaging with protesters to re-open lanes of traffic since the blockade started Saturday.

They remain on the scene while efforts continue focused on fully reopening the border.
