On Friday afternoon, Jan. 26, a back country skier fell to his death while climbing Temple Mountain in Banff National Park.

Lake Louise RCMP were called at 4:35 p.m. and Parks Canada visitor safety and emergency crews then headed to the scene.

Once they arrived, they found a deceased adult male who the RCMP report as looking like he fell while climbing the Aemmer Coulier.

The skier has been identified as a 32-year-old man from Saskatchewan. His name has not been released but next of kin have been notified.

The RCMP say the investigation is ongoing, however, foul play is not suspected.
