Beginning today, May 23, construction at the intersection of 132 Avenue and 97 Street will lead to improved traffic flow and safety with the addition of five new turn bays and new traffic signals.

“Improving traffic flow and enhancing safety are key priorities for the City of Grande Prairie, and we are excited to begin this construction project at the intersection of 132 Avenue and 97 Street," said Project Technologist, Andrew Booth. "By adding turn bays and installing new traffic signals, we enhance the efficiency of traffic movements, alleviate congestion and improve overall traffic flow in the area.”

During construction, the speed limit within the construction zone will be reduced to 30 km/h. This reduction in speed will ensure the safety of both motorists and construction crews. Traffic can navigate in all directions at all times throughout the construction zone. Motorists are advised to adhere to all posted signs and drive with caution while passing through the construction zone.

The City of Grande Prairie understands that construction projects may cause temporary inconvenience and we appreciate the patience and cooperation of residents and commuters during this time.
