The City of Grande Prairie is investing in upgraded recreation amenities in neighbourhoods by replacing playground equipment, park furnishings, and protective surfaces at three playgrounds.

The T.J. Gorman, Annie Higbee and Kyra Paull playgrounds will be closed for approximately six-weeks to accommodate the construction.

The new playground equipment is designed for ages 2 to 12 and is intended to increase inclusivity from the previous structure for all playground users. The playgrounds will also feature a wood chip surface instead of sand.

The playgrounds are located near the following places:

  • T.J. Gorman: Crystal Lake Drive, south of 124 Avenue
  • Annie Higbee: 91 A Street north of 105 Avenue in Crystal Heights
  • Kyra Paull: Near the intersection of 60A Avenue and 90A Street in Countryside South

Construction begins in early June and is expected to last until mid-July.
