BC RCMP North District Major Crime Unit (NDMCU) is looking to the public to help further its investigation into the homicide of a Dawson Creek man who recently relocated from the Lower Mainland.

On Sunday, May 9, 2021, at approximately 9:00 am, frontline officers of the Dawson Creek RCMP were called to a report of a body, found near Highway 2 and Clark Road in Pouce Coupe, BC.

Investigators from NDMCU in partnership with the BC Coroners Service have now identified the body to be that of 55 year old Lance Wayne Patterson and that his death was a homicide. Investigators have also determined that Lance Patterson was known to drive a distinctive 2003 black Mercury Marauder and are seeking any information regarding his activities in the days leading up to his death.

Staff Sergeant Todd Wiebe of NDMCU states We believe that people have information that will assist us in finding the person responsible for Lance’s death and we urge anyone with information to come forward and speak to an investigator. S/Sgt. Wiebe also stated that investigators are seeking video dash cam footage from anyone travelling on Highway 2 near Clark Road between the late evening hours of May 8 and the early hours of May 9, 2021.
