The investigation and search last summer for two young men wanted for three killings cost the RCMP in Manitoba and British Columbia a large sum.

About 1.5 million dollars was used on this manhunt.

Manitoba RCMP spent less than $800,000 during the 17-day search for 18-year-old Bryer Schmegelsky and 19-year-old Kam McLeod.

BC Mounties estimate a cost of  $750,000.

Schmegelsky and McLeod confessed in videos to the murders of the University of BC lecturer Leonard Dyck, American Chynna Deese and her Australian boyfriend Lucas Fowler.

The two suspects were found dead in Northern Manitoba.
