The Christian rock band STRYPER has been releasing heavy music for decades but their newest acoustic album shows a lighter side of the band.

To Hell with the Amps will be available on May 10, 2024, and have 11 paired-down acoustic songs on it.

In anticipation of this album, STRYPER released a single off the album, their version of 'Amazing Grace' on May 7.

"Not only will this be available on streaming platforms but we will soon be announcing the release of Vinyl, CD/DVD, and Cassette," says STRYPER on Facebook. "Yes, you read that right. Cassette."

The rock band released their first album The Yellow and Black Attack in 1983 and have been releasing music consistently since. According to songwriter Michael Sweet, this acoustic album has been in the works for seven years.

"So many of these songs were actually written on an acoustic guitar and to be able to release it and showcase different interpretations of these classic STRYPER songs is something that we’ve wanted to do for a very long time," says Sweet.

STRYPER makes a guest appearance in the newest Unsung Hero soundtrack for the Christian film, singing on the newest version of 'To Hell with the Devil' alongside for King & Country and Lecrae.
