There were 1,339 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Alberta as of September 1, 2021.

Hospitalizations rose by 22 for a total of 487 while ICU admissions increased by seven for a total of 114.

Of the 487 in hospital, 385 or 79.06 per cent are not immunized, 16 are partially vaccinated, and 86 are fully immunized.

Five more deaths have also been reported for a total of 2,388.

There are now 12,868 active cases in the province with a positivity rate of over 10 per cent.

Grande Prairie currently has 491 active cases, while there are 180 cases in the County.

Alberta marked a milestone with 70 per cent of the population now fully immunized.  78.2 per cent of the provincial population now has one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine.  43.2% of eligible residents in Grande Prairie are fully vaccinated with the County of Grande Prairie numbers at 42.5%.

Experts say that over 85 per cent of the population needs to be immunized to achieve herd immunity.
