Two road improvements are underway in the City’s north end 100 Street and 121 Avenue to rebuild the road and improve adjacent infrastructure.

Construction on 100 Street is progressing well, and the impacted intersections are adjusted to open traffic flow at 121 Avenue and expand construction zone 116 Avenue and 124 Avenue.

Road Reconstruction Coming to Northridge (Business Area)

On Sunday, August 14, a full road reconstruction begins on 121 Avenue from 100 Street and 102 Street.

Work is expected to be complete by mid-September. Transit routes 2 and 5 will see minor delays.

The work planned for the area consists of an asphalt milling and replacement of existing road structure with a new pavement structure, some concrete work and minor storm sewer infrastructure repairs.

·121 Avenue - The intersection of 121 Avenue and 100 Street is now open to east and west traffic. 121 Avenue from 100 Street to 102 Street will remain open to alternating one-lane traffic during work hours and maintained as two-way traffic after hours.

·124 Avenue - The intersection of 124 Avenue and 100 Street is now closed due to the construction zone on 100 Street adjacent to the Prairie Mall.

Throughout construction, the posted speed limit will be reduced to 30km/h. Drivers are advised to proceed with caution, watch for flag people and anticipate potential traffic delays.
